The healing themes

Grief hurts. Breakups suck, and there is no getting around it, but there is a way through it. The Breakup Cards have 12 healing themes to guide you through heartache and healing.

Without a willingness to go through your grief of breaking up and heartache, you can miss the opportunity for growth and miss the lessons you need to live a truly beautiful and fulfilling life in the future. This is where The Break Up Cards come in.

For me, the healing process was way more nuanced that 5 stages. I wrestled with all the the Kubler-Ross pieces, but I also had to learn about boundaries, what is means to let go and how to let go. I struggled with ancient wisdom and universal love and how I was so preoccupied with my own happiness and if that was even okay or useful. Breaking up and moving forward with your life mean we need to learn about acceptance, letting go, gratitude, acceptance and how the world works.

We must learn about healthy relationships.

We must learn how to be happy alone.

We can work on focusing on our own happiness and find fulfillment in new ways.

We have to evaluate our personal values and the priorities we have in our life. This means working to not only become, but also Un-Become everything you are not.

We have to learn new, positive and intentional ways of talking to ourselves, inside our minds as a crucial part of self care: taking true and honest care of ourselves.

For these themes that came through, I created 12 healing themes that arrange The Breakup Cards. Each healing themes acknowledges a crucial part of your healing journey and sets you up for a loving life, not a broken one. The Breakup Cards have 12 healing themes to guide you through heart ache and healing. The healing themes are beautiful and unique to the peculiar loss of heartbreak, including:

According to Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, there are 5 stages of grief:

  • Where you avoid, feel confused, feel a sense of shock and even fear.

  • This feel like frustration, this is where we blame others. We feel irritated, pissed off and anxious. You might feel like screaming at the world and certain it is all wrong.

  • The is the struggle to find meaning. This is where we are compelled to reach out to others. We search for answers. This is about the need to tell your story, remember, go back through and try to work it out. We might fantasise about what if’s and bargain with god.

  • How fun! NOT. A natural part of grief is feeling crap, worthless, hangout to dry, useless. We give up on love or feel completely numb. You might feel overwhelmed and hostile or like a helpless sod curled up into a ball in the dark.

  • A part of the process is coming to terms with the loss, making plans for the future, feeling a greater sense of reality about it all, finding yourself happy again.
